The OmniBook Ultra Flip and the EliteBook X were two of the most notable AI-driven advancements unveiled at HP’s Imagine 2024 event. A variety of other breakthroughs are scheduled to appear in late 2024 and early 2025. The EliteBook X claims itself to be the “most powerful” AI PC, with unparalleled AI performance, while the OmniBook Ultra Flip is a stylish, lightweight, 2-in-1 AI laptop that emphasises flexibility.

Additional highlights were HP Print AI for next-generation printers, HP Wolf Security for improved security, and Perfect Output for print formatting. Given that only 27% of workers are happy in their current workplaces, the event highlighted the significance of artificial intelligence (AI) in revolutionizing workspaces. According to HP’s research, the percentage of workers who adopted AI increased from 38% in 2023 to 66% in 2024, and those who did so reported far greater levels of job satisfaction.

HP made sure that users could run AI locally without risking data privacy, emphasising that AI should be viewed as a helpful tool rather than a substitute. This is in line with HP’s dedication to cybersecurity, which has been strengthened by the launch of HP Gen AI Lab and its Wolf Security for new laptops, which aim to lessen AI “hallucinations” or incorrect outputs because of faulty data.

Another important issue that was addressed briefly was sustainability. HP stated that their laptops use less power and are hence more energy-efficient due to the optimisation of NPUs. Additionally, the firm promised to remove single-use plastics from its packaging by 2025. Recycled materials, such as leftover cooking oil and plastic that ends up in the ocean, are still employed in the company’s manufacturing operations.

Although HP supervises a number of sustainability and artificial intelligence initiatives, it noted that the complexity of AI technology poses continuous obstacles. Despite this, HP is committed to moving forward in light of the tremendous progress that has already been made and the realization that in order to fulfil demands in the future and guarantee beneficial effects on the world, the best they can do is adapt.
