After the launch of the new Apple iPhone 16 series, Apple’s A18 Pro is the fastest smartphone chip on the market. And while it is a great mobile processor, not everyone can get their hands on it since Apple only makes it for their iPhone series.
However, for people who like Android, both MediaTek and Qualcomm are here to save the day, as they are set to launch their next generation of flagship mobile processors next month in October.
MediaTek recently confirmed the date for their October launch event in a teaser shared on Weibo, a Chinese social media platform. They didn’t name any products in the teaser; however, it mentioned that users can expect their next generation of products at the event, which will be held on October 9.
While not directly named, the Dimensity 9400 is said to be one of those products. We recently saw some alleged Geekbench 6 scores for the Dimensity 9400 in the upcoming Oppo Find X8, which showed the new chip from MediaTek beating Apple’s A18 Pro in the Geekbench 6 multicore score.
The MediaTek Dimensity 9400 also showed a huge jump in single-core performance with about 30 percent higher scores than its predecessor. However, the highlight of the upcoming Dimensity 9400 is said to be the GPU, which will supposedly be a lot faster than the offerings from Apple and Qualcomm.
The MediaTek Dimensity 9400 will feature the new Arm Immortalis G925 MC12 GPU, and according to some early benchmarks, it could be up to 86 percent faster than the GPU present in the Apple A18 Pro chip.
Both the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 and the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 are looking very promising, and Apple, without a doubt, is about to have some serious competition.
